Dance

Much of my high school and college life has revolved around one of my greatest passions- dance. â€‹In addition to completing a dance minor at UF, I explored various styles through extra circular involvement.

  • Anomaly Dance Crew

    • As a member of Anomaly I had the opportunity to compete in various hip hop based dance competitions around the Southeast United States. Most notably this included World of Dance in Atlanta, Georgia and Prelude Urban Dance Festival in Tampa, Florida. From 2017-2018 I served as a co-captain of of this dance team. This was an incredible experience in which I had a variety of responsibilities including programming, team development, and technique building for team members.

  • Sabor Latino Dance Team

    • Joining Sabor in 2018 was truly an eye opening experience. Not only did this team allow me to explore new styles of dance, but also latin culture. â€‹As nearly all of my teammates come from a variety of latin backgrounds, they have shared so much about their culture with me through dance.

  • Extreme Dance Company

    • As a freshman moving 1,000 miles from home, joining Extreme Dance Company my first week of college was an immersive experience. Through this organization I was able to grow as an artist, college student, and person. â€‹

  • Chinese American Student Association (CASA) and Filipino Student Association (FSA)

    • While I am ethnically white, during my freshman year of college I joined both CASA and FSA. â€‹These organizations welcomed me with open arms and were beyond excited to extend their culture to me through dance.

  • Philfest

    • Throughout my college experience I remained engaged in Filipino culture and organizations both at UF and in the state of Florida. After competing in a Filipino dance competition in Tampa in 2017, I was asked to return as a judge in 2018. This entailed learning more about Filipino culture especially through dance.

  • Southeast Embodiment of Dance (SEED)

    • Founded in the October of 2017 this organization aims to connect dance groups across the southeastern United States. Every year this organization hosts events across Florida and Georgia in an effort to create dialogue about dance and the importance of community. Upon SEED's creation I took on the role of community leader at UF. This entailed spreading information about SEED and encouraging groups at UF to learn about the organization and become involved

Photography

I developed my passion for photography at a young age and continued pursing this field. I was gifted my first DSLR at age 13 and quickly became eager to learn methods of photography. Much of my knowledge is self taught however I have completed two photography courses, one at UF and one through Charles University in Prague. Since then, my skills and artistic vision have continued to grow. I have been published on a variety of online platforms, magazines, and recently had one of my images used in a novel publication. I hope to continue expanding my technical skills in addition to developing creative ideas.

Beginning in 2019, I developed a strong passion for graphic design. Since then, I have began building my capacity and knowledge of online softwares such as Lightroom  Illustrator, Photoshop, Premier Pro, and more. With these skills, I have been hired for independent design work and have created a variety of marketing and advertising materials. â€‹
