Little Dolphin Swim Academy

Instructor, Supervisor, and Professional Assistant

I began this role working as a lesson instructor in 2012 and continue to work for them when I am home in New Jersey. I have held a variety of roles at the office including life guard, instructor, supervisor, customer service, technical support, public relations, and social media content creator. Most notably, my role as supervisor entailed supervising staff, communicating with parents, and encouraging children. Additionally, as an instructor I have worked with populations ranging from 3 months old to 70 years old. This has fostered my ability to be flexible and adjust material in order to effectively communicate with all types of age groups.

Swim America Gainesville

Instructor

In this role, I have primarily served as a swim instructor begging in August of 2016 to the present. Throughout my time here, I have worked with a very diverse community in Gainesville enabling my knowledge of teaching children of different age, language skills, and swimming ability in one class. In several instances I have had the pleasure of teaching children with special needs. Prior to this, I had limited knowledge of children with autism and similar conditions. Additionally, for several months I had a class of students with one of whom only spoke Spanish. Teaching a class of mixed language knowledge was certainly a learning opportunity in being resourceful and adjusting my teaching methods as necessary to effectively communicate.
